The highly anticipated album from Lawrence is finally here, and 15 years after the CD release for the first time available on vinyl. Hamburg based Dial and Smallville owner Peter Kersten aka Lawrence is one of the most valued and highly regarded artists in the modern dance music community with a long history of releases on Nova Mute, Kompakt, Ladomat, Spectral, Ghostly, Mule and of course his own imprint Dial. Until Then, Goodbye kicks off with a special "intro" version of a fan favorite "Friday's Child" followed by the introspective ambient piece "Sunrise." "Grey Light" remarks the electronic style of "Drutti Column" while "Jill" is purely sweet slow house music. The album shifts towards more acoustic driven material with songs such as "Father Umbrillo" and "Toderhau-Sen Blues" -- don't fret purists as Lawrence hits back with his classic signature sounds with the likes of "In Your Eyes," "Sleep," and "Suffer." Lawrence leaves listeners with a whisper in the most beautiful of ways. The atmospheric ambient tune "Don't Follow Me," the ebb and flow of the piano driven "A New Day" and the title track leave the listener in a state of bliss.

Mule Musiq welcomes another fresh producer to its vast catalogue of music from all around. This time Andro Gogibedashvili aka Saphileaum. A deeper shade of soul, precisely fashioned, growing from different playgrounds of inspiration. Exploring Together, his debut album for Mule, navigates a merry-go-round of gentle driven rhythm zones. Fourth-world spheres, Balearic tropes, field recording zones, tropical downbeat, tribal percussions, trancing sounds, balafon hums, mallet airs, hooky house -- it's all there, circling the eavesdropper into a dreamland of melodic undercurrents. Exploring Together is vast. Multifunctional. Spiritual. Made for gatherings. Lost in music actions, only touched by the hand of rhythm and sound. His ten tracks are created for such flashes, wide spreading a musical narration of illuminating durability.

Mule Musiq welcomes British producer Jimmy Wallace, presenting his debut album Red, Yellow, Black -- a nine-track strong record that partly leaves the dancefloor behind. Wallace has performed with artists like Ruf Dug, Mr Scruff, and Bradley Zero, heating up the dance floors. As a producer he has already released a handful of stunning eps, including one for Sweden's finest house label studio Barnhus, and one for London's revered Rhythm Section International imprint. Both feature house tunes with an edge, house tunes with a love for the roots of the genre along-side more reflective, ambient moments. He also runs the label Tartan Records, where he publishes dancefloor focused white labels. His music has been championed by titans of the scene such as Palms Trax, Ryan Elliott, DJ Tennis, Gilles Peterson, Dixon, and Hunee. Axel Boman even coined his debut EP as "one of the very best demo emails ever received at label Studio Barhnus HQ." An advance praise, that Wallace now acknowledges with an album full of deeply crafted music. Some tracks lean towards the dancefloor, like the swung sounds of "Bubbles", the hypnotic maelstrom of "Good Morning," or the epic, jazzy moments of "Labyrinth." The theme of nature is evident throughout, with field recordings and environmental sounds he recorded on the road, being fused with his own musical ideas. The result is a mesmerizing long player featuring an evocative, emotional story arc that avoids stereotypes and straight party orientated narration.

A vacation through an imaginary pleasure-dome by means of ambient house, airy dub and at-times schizophrenic breakbeat. Fantastic Man teams up with Tokyo's Mule Musiq to deliver his debut LP. Comprising of nine tracks, Utopioid advances further into the realm of sci-fi influenced club and esoteric electronica -- a vacation through an imaginary pleasure-dome by means of ambient house, airy dub and at-times schizophrenic breakbeat. Written in 2019 and 2020 across Berlin, the Carioca Spheres of Rio, and his hometown of Melbourne, Utopioid expands and adapts Fantastic Man's much loved musical tropes for long format. It's a well-balanced and deeply crafted album and features a cameo by fellow Melbourne rising-star Memphis on "Mazes," resurrects the spirit of the nineties Rompler on "Forbidden Fiction," and glides you through peak-acid euphoria with "D'Oxygen" and "Diaspora." Utopioid follows a series of recent 12"s, which include DJ Mentality on his own Superconscious Records and Solar Surfing on Stuttgart's Kitjen along with his 2016 LP titled Altitude Attitudes under the alias Mind Lotion on Parisian label Antinote.

Originally released on CD in 1995. Mule Musiq dives into the archives of humanoid ambient music history, bringing the vinyl premiere of a masterwork by German DJ, producer, and musician David Moufang, globally known as Move D. Released in 1995 on Pete Namlook's fabled Fax +49-69/450464 label, the album marks his only output as solitaire, featuring heroic, supple ambient music, that some folks call one of the best works by Move D. Just three years before he dropped it, Moufang launched with Jonas Grossmann the celebrated label source records, active from 1992 to 2005. it was the platform for his first Move D album Kunststoff, likewise released in 1995, highlighting diverse genres like techno, house, IDM, ambient, electro, and downtempo. Solitaire works with pulsating rhythms, too. Gentle ones, that cater sensations beyond the propelling dance sectors. a spiritual album. Recorded at the Resource Studios/Heidelberg in July/August 1994. It reaches out to higher ground, never leaving the sediment. Still state of the art. Not a single melody, note, tone has aged. All sparkle, all innocence is still there, somewhere deep in the arpeggiated space, absorbing time. An exploratory early electronic work by an artist, who still had his most prolific years to come. And yet, Solitaire sounds like being shaped by a fully mature creative mind, that defined his sonic language already profoundly. Six epic tunes between five and 16 minutes, listening to emblematic titles like "Damaskus/Dakar", "Sergio Leone's Wet Dream", or "Indian Mantra", while opening ambient into investigative textural layer landscapes, that subtly incorporate acid, downbeat, IDM, or early techno districts. For those who have been around in the electronic music sphere for a while, Solitaire is a classic. For those who are young at heart, it opens new horizons. each new passive or active listing loop fresh ones. Hidden in the harmonies. Hidden in the melodies. Somewhere inside the sound. Leading outside into a visual texture, where you can almost see the music! Vinyl only; edition of 500.

"My name is King So So. I am, because you are. I created the Disco In The Sky solely for you, and it is now, finally ready for your glorious arrival. Here, I will welcome you, to dance in the light with me, where you will have fellowship with me, and with one another, and gone will be the days of darkness. Listen, I now stand at your door, Hippie Dance. I am knocking. If you have an ear, hear my voice and let me in. Grant me the pleasure and honor to sit with all of you, and I will allow you to sit with me on my throne in the Sky. Hear what the Spirit of So So says to you: Come dance in the Disco in the Sky, and swim in the Lake of Sweet Dreams with me and there I will manifest myself to you. If you love me, I will give you my Word that I will teach you all things sound and bring you memories of the light for you to return to the Sky. Peace I leave with you. Summon your friends, Hippie Dance. Tell them that I am waiting for all of you. I am ready for you. Tell them to arise! Tell them to go forth to the Disco in the Sky where we will be together until the Kingdom goes. Yours, like I am, sincerely, King So So."

Beautifully drunken it hums, the piano in "Pianopiano", the last tune of How To Spread Lies, the first EP by Roman Flügel for the Hamburg based label dial from the year 2010. Or take "Strich", a peculiar electrical slow-motion grinder, out on his Mutter EP for Klang Electronic in 2006. For a long time, the renowned DJ and producer from Frankfurt is investigating in spheres beyond the dance, the groove, the ecstasy. Zones, where the molecules harmonize, the senses relieve, and the soul quietens. All of his previous few albums, All The Right Noises (DIAL 038CD/LP, 2016), Themes I-XIII (2018), Eating Darkness (RB 015CD/LP, 2021) have moments of tension and relaxation in a deep harmonious connection. Now Balmy Evenings, a sundown record for sunups. Eleven notions in journey music, embracing the freedom of structure, blurring the musical pulse into harmonic meditation and mysteriously grooving zones, leaving all unnecessary accessories behind. A quality, that many of Roman Flügel's solo and project productions in his more than 30-year lasting career comprise. Still, most of them squint on the dancefloor, where jack is king not so Balmy Evenings, where real dancefloor bangers are omitted. There are moving tunes like the slow Kraftwerk-melody-leaning funkateer "Duftschulter", or the artificially jacking "Greenhouse", where nervous synth patterns ball along soft breaks and decreet kicks. likewise, "Super Sonne", an odd, seemingly improvised synth conversation might ask some souls out for a dance. But all others, like "Atmosphere", "Frei", "Dolphins", "Goth", or "Ambienteuse", rather seek for the tranquil in each one's spirit. Listeners must be ready for surprises. Ready for impulsive ideas, linked to a harmonious flow, always ready to grow in an analog vs. digital sound scope. An album full of silence, utterly loud, displaying a playful, adventurous artistic facet of a celebrated club music producer, to whom atoms dance in manifold ways.

In the gutter lie sun dried leaves, scraps of paper, burnt matches and cigarette butts. It is early morning; the sun rises with warm grace. you've come to the right party... you see, the body of a young man sitting by a pool, nobody important, really. Just a movie writer with a couple of "b" pictures to his credit. He always wanted a pool. Well, in the end he got himself a pool, but let's go back some time and find the day when it all started in "Hollywood," the place where they pay a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul. Three years after he celebrated Sketch of Japan EP (2019), Superpitcher returns to Mule Musiq, bringing an epic super-pitched 40 minutes trip named Hollywood, that perfectly works as the score for the above remixed opening scene of a famous movie on the trances of Hollywood, the cage, that catch our dreams. It's a slow grower, incorporating some of core elements of the city of celluloid dreams: action, drama, romance -- all epic noir and yet so flooded by light. As ever the producer and DJ from Paris garnished his long building up and going down voyage with seducing melodies, glamorous pop, and psychic rhythms, creating the hippy dance ambiences he is famed for. Even though the twelve inch comes in accustomed a/b chapters, Hollywood should be perceived in one go to feel the depth of Superpitcher's tropical leaning story arc, that stretches the idea of a track into a dream of satin teardrops on flickering velvet lights. It paints sonic celluloid pictures of ghostly creatures, while a female/male voice is the music's constant melodic companion, injection Janus-faced longing dream pop spheres on the overall tripping house melancholy. A heroic electronic drama, elegant as Tamara de Lempicka's painting. It asks for endless rides on the Hollywood freeways. in the back the sun -- a big orange ball -- sinking slowly below the horizon. You've come to the right party... you see, the body of a young man sitting by a pool, in the back a long, graceful bar, bathed in soft light, filled with elegant customers. There's nothing else, just us and the music and those wonderful people out there in the dark, ready for a divine dance in closeup.

Soft piano notes kiss trippy electronic tones. Kossaiko, the only collaborative record that Japanese piano player Saiko Tsukamoto and globally known electronic producer Kuniyuki Takahashi ever produced, is an unmissable profound soft classic music burner. Together they composed and produced an eight-chapter strong deeply absorbing narrative whose enthralling story arc dives profound into authentic drama zones, that sound like they jumped right out of a Claude Sautet movie. Originally released in 2007 as CD only, the perfectly put together long player now enters the world for the first time in a vinyl edition that is tragically hip. Deeply starry-eyed compositions full of minimalistic piano melodies that creep, twist, and dance around unobtrusive electronic notes who never call the tune, but always elevate the spectacle into higher electronic spheres. In the center of each between five- and nine-minutes long composition is the piano play of Saiko, gently hitting the keys, giving space to each note to vibrate in an endless Pauline Oliveros way, drifting until the very last sound vanish. around them, Kuniyuki plays his charming electronic tricks, opening the space for tones that sometimes pulsate, sometimes flow the ambient way. Furthermore, occasionally a guitar notes pop up or accordion melodies cover the sorcery with a severely romantic veil. Modern classical music, that has no fear of electronic meltdowns, that embraces digital tones while staying organic in its very inner circle. A wise man once said: "when words leave off, music begins". Those who fall for the eight poems of Saikoss will lose their speech and in return get pleased all agitations of their soul.

Mule Musiq present a reissue of Koss's Ancient Rain, originally released on CD in 2008. Romantically, otherworldly floating introspective ambient: Kuniyuki Takahashi, one of Japan's most prolific contemporary musicians, was always an artist for deep sensual expressions. Especially under his anonym Koss he explores profound electronic ambient sounds enlarged with ingredients of house, minimal, IDM, and what he calls a "new oriental sound", a style, that translates traces of ancient Asian music traditions into modern realms. In particular, his fourth Koss album Ancient Rain, released in 2008 as CD only, was an attempt to meld old melodic traditions with textural layers of modern electronic frequencies without losing a distinct human touch. Now Mule Musiq releases his nine compositions for the first time as a double-LP, rendering his poetic, slow burning melodic drifts and rhythmical shifts into the richness of the vinyl sound. All music was produced in-depth in his very own private studio while using music making computer software, a Roland System-1, Jupiter-8, and the dynamic percussion Synth Korg Wavedrum. Besides the short tune "Dream (Real World)" that features suavely absorbing oriental harp sounds, all compositions vibrate six to ten minutes long. An epic format, that goes hand-in-hand with Kuniyuki's extemporaneous work ethic, in which every moment of creating generates a unique unknown poetic universe. "It's an endless continuing journey," he states and points out to what listeners will experience while wandering off in his subtle expanding layers of sounds and electronic modulations. Sometimes his favorite instrument, the piano, is hanging dulcet above the frequency alternations. Also restrained house grooves actuate the cautious chord progressions and environmental sounds deepen the sublime listening experience. Those who dive into Ancient Rain of the reel, will experience a seamlessly shadowy ambient drift, in which every detail is given space to breathe in order to entrap heedful spirits into a preternatural never-never land beyond space and time.

2024 repress. DJ, producer, and Dial Records co-owner Lawrence produced his fourth album for Mule Musiq. The Berlin-based artist wrote nine new arrangements specifically for Studio Mule, the new audiophile listening bar that Mule Musiq's head-honcho Toshiya Kawasaki recently opened in Shibuya, Tokyo. "Toshiya's wine and listening bar was the inspiration for the project. I followed the idea of listening to music in this (for me imaginary) place on a magic vintage sound system, slightly drunk with an always special drink in my hand! The music is therefore also very eccentric and 'tipsy', improvised on acoustic instruments, synthesizers and computer, combined with recordings I did in Berlin's Central Tiergarten Park." Lawrence acknowledges the imaginative superstructure above his new album and his mode of operating during the recordings. Birds On The Playground features deep pulsating music that unfolds its true absorbing character when the auditor listens carefully to the detailed storytelling of Lawrence. Like always, his tunes have a special, radiant pulse, that somehow is a signature sign of most of his productions. Playful cosmic grooves, light-hearted, crafted with love and yet freshly unsettling in some moments. His arpeggiated melodies remind partly on the music of Hans-Joachim Roedelius. In other seconds, they display a jazzy spiritual character and drift into meditative areas, that sound to a degree like long forgotten Japanese folk music spheres. As Birds On The Playground isn't aimed straight for the dancefloor, the overall coating of the music is a relaxed, cautious one, that goes beyond the average definition of ambient music. Each track builds up gracefully, in order to present a mesmerizing musical architecture, that offers new sound dimensions with any fresh listening turn. As the record is made for Mule Musiq's latest public space enterprise, everyone who is closely connected to the label was involved. Mule Musiq's core artist Kuniyuki was in charge for the mastering. And the labels visual artist Stefan Marx painted the cover artwork.
