MAEVE 008EP
The Maeve label, run by close friends Mano le Tough, The Drifter, and Baikal, presents Silver Walks by Ed Davenport. Although perhaps more known for his harder techno releases under his Inland moniker, Davenport returns to his roots on Silver Walks with slower, more emotive, more contemplative tracks, recorded over a pretty short period of focused studio time. "Silver Walks" is a synth-led jam. The arpeggiator holds pride of place as the center of the tune with filter tweaks complementing its progression. "Kuromaku" has a tougher attitude -- heady and cosmic with a deep kick.

FALKPLATZ 007EP
Second solo EP on Falkplatz from Ed Davenport after his groundbreaking Verdantin EP from 2010. "Inland" on the A-side is a 10-minute manifest and shows Ed's talent in creating rough, banging techno tracks with a melancholic touch. You also can find this touch on "5 Rivers" on the B-side -- warm chords and shuffling hi-hats all the way through. Pure sweetness. Includes a remix by Force/Emerge.

FALKPLATZ 002EP
"After the first release from Oliver Deutschmann's Falkplatz label flew off the shelves, we continue with a special vinyl release from Berlin-based Ed Davenport, featuring a beautiful vocal performance from Ostgut Ton's Elif Biçer. 'Verdantin' is an epic 13 minute long burner. Moody synths, haunting vocals, and a sub-sonic kick drive the slowly evolving structure forward. Patience is rewarded by a stripped drum tool gracing the final part of the recording. On the flip the airy 'Siebzehn' feat. Elif Biçer soars through dubbed out chord stabs and a jubilant chorus line that swells over 9 minutes. Elif's vocal shines through with real heart adding a classy edge to this full and honest house track!"

LDS 009EP
"Following the success of the rolling summer deepness of Ed Davenport's Eyespeak, a multi-purpose house jam that nonchalantly pre-empted the current trend for deeper, more classic vibes, we introduce the next Liebe*detail Spezial remix package: Frankfurt's notorious Motorcitysoul (needing no introduction thanks to their highly acclaimed output of late) turn in a grooving remix that stays very true to the original, yet injects their unique ear for detail, subtle, stripped arrangements and classic German house sensibilities. It's a very functional, 'heads down, hands up' track that will find its way to the dancefloor at many moments throughout the night!"

GUMP 002EP
"What better way to start the New Year than with a fresh new artist -- London-based producer and DJ Ed Davenport. Ed's been making an impact on the UK 'minimal' scene for a while now and these two tracks should go a long way towards cementing his reputation as one of the more promising emerging producers around. Whereas Gumption 001 was all about slowly turning up the pressure before driving the dance floor to distraction, Ed adopts a different yet equally effective approach on Gumption 002, dropping the tempo, working the space behind the grooves and utilizing his arrangement skills to deliver two emotionally contrasting rides. In fact on 'Diminuendo,' he unravels the track so completely he almost flatlines, stripping away the layers until all that remains is the pulsing bass line that works so effectively as the central focus of the track (don't you just love a good breakdown?). It's a dark, bass heavy journey full of intricate percussive effects and subliminal rushes. Urgent yet sparse, it offers the DJ maximum flexibility both as an individual track (like a film that needs several viewings to fully appreciate the complex narrative) and as a mixing tool. At nearly ten minutes there are enough twists and turns, peaks and troughs, shifts and shakes to really get your hands dirty with this one. The flipside contains 'Yanderling' and highlights Ed's musical sensibilities. It's a long, drifting, mellow groove full of chugging percussion with a timeless hook line that ebbs and flows throughout. Reminiscent of Model 500, Eddie 'Flashin' Fowlkes, even early Villalobos, it's one of those tracks that needs to be heard at the end of a dark night just as the sun breaks out from behind the clouds to warm your soul."
