MUSIQ 259LP
A vacation through an imaginary pleasure-dome by means of ambient house, airy dub and at-times schizophrenic breakbeat. Fantastic Man teams up with Tokyo's Mule Musiq to deliver his debut LP. Comprising of nine tracks, Utopioid advances further into the realm of sci-fi influenced club and esoteric electronica -- a vacation through an imaginary pleasure-dome by means of ambient house, airy dub and at-times schizophrenic breakbeat. Written in 2019 and 2020 across Berlin, the Carioca Spheres of Rio, and his hometown of Melbourne, Utopioid expands and adapts Fantastic Man's much loved musical tropes for long format. It's a well-balanced and deeply crafted album and features a cameo by fellow Melbourne rising-star Memphis on "Mazes," resurrects the spirit of the nineties Rompler on "Forbidden Fiction," and glides you through peak-acid euphoria with "D'Oxygen" and "Diaspora." Utopioid follows a series of recent 12"s, which include DJ Mentality on his own Superconscious Records and Solar Surfing on Stuttgart's Kitjen along with his 2016 LP titled Altitude Attitudes under the alias Mind Lotion on Parisian label Antinote.

KITJEN 009EP
Back in the game, Fantastic Man returns to Kitjen with a powerful EP of mind-bending, acid workouts. Solar Surfing is a concise example of the Australian artist's panache for psychedelically inspired house music with two dance-floor heavy cuts preceding a contemplative, baseline driven slow jam. The hypnotic and fast paced title track locks in and moves ever forward, whilst "Native Power" features the classic sound of Fantastic Man's 303, coupled cleverly with the sound of an extraterrestrial bird-song. A drop-in tempo rounds off the release with "Avocado Conception", an expertly delivered exploration in slow, chugging nostalgia.

KITJEN 005EP
Kitjen's fifth installment comes in the form of three floor-friendly cuts by Melbourne/Berlin's Fantastic Man. This Swiss army knife of a 12" gracefully knocks on the doors of Italo and acid house and is filled with trippy drums that create a perfect pool for you to drown in. This record is a fantastic stocking stuffer and the official dress code for this release is "retired magician".

LOTR 005-2EP
After LOTR 005EP was (sadly) deleted, Love on the Rocks presents an alternate version -- same track list, same fantastic sound, slightly different edit. Melbournian producer Mic Newman aka Fantastic Man follows his instantly-sold-out 2014 Animal Language EP and 2015's El Tropo with Dream Machine. The title-track slides into its house-inspired beats with a taste of some early '90s progressive pads before a piano unravels. "Fountain Gate" merges the NYC garage house feel of Sha-Lor's "I'm in Love" with jungle-inspired snare fills and a timeless acid line. "St Elmo's Theme" features saturated kicks with hypnotic drum patterns and some xylophonic sparkle.
