Famous Spanish producer Alex Under, known for his releases on his own CMYK label and others such as Plus 8 and Soma, is the author of this Soniculture release. A football match should be appreciated in front of a big screen and the main snack should be lupini beans, but please pay attention that you should eat them without their skin by tearing them off, one by one, with your teeth and "popping" the seed directly into your mouth. Magical techno grooves at their best, with futuristic acid lines and synth arrangements that will make the lupini beans pop into your mouth at the speed of light. Goal!

2LP version. Soniculture, the Lisbon-based label, proudly presents Billy Dalessandro's fifth album. This project forges a new generation of production style and sound design for Billy as he cocks the shotgun of his latest experiment in electronic debauchery. Cracktime sonically defines those innocent and naughty moments that each of us exhibit, in our own way, that helps to fulfill our lives with all those insane memories we carry with us back to the grave. Thirteen tracks round out this ring match in a dub-infused, 303-injected, Chicago-style bassed-out fight that lasts just about an hour. So sit back (or jack back) and remember -- that if religion is the opium of the masses, music definitely gives us our daily crack.

Soniculture's label boss Expander kicks it with an EP that will rock the most demanding dancefloors, including a remix from Tadeo. "The Waggler" is a bass-driven ride on a rollercoaster of madness. Tadeo delivers another approach, making it more pumping and enhanced with a touch of retro and a combination of futuristic sounds. With "The Wiggler," Expander rides towards a more hypnotic direction, still fuelled by heavy bass lines and analog sounds.

Billy Dalessandro's Water To Wine EP plays around with new frequencies and soundscapes that blend neatly. "Water To Wine" takes us on a journey through space. With the TB 303 bass line in the background and long synth pads, the composition sounds ethereal. "Neuron Hunter" features the TB 303 again, hypnotizing us and leading us through hyperspace. A bit darker then the previous track, it is yet another approach to what we can now call sideral dance music.

Alexander Kowalski offers a passionate and emotional version of "Only Your Touch." Elias Landberg crafts a rough and naughty version of "Call Girl," ghetto Detroit-style. Nhar presents an acid version of "Nanomachines," coloring it far darker. Re:Axis take a more minimal approach, with attention to fine detail and exemplary sound design.

Soniculture presents French techno artist Bernard Siefert aka Nhar, known for his releases on Mobilee, Meerestief, Plak and Modelisme. His sound is hypnotic, with finely-tuned melodies and vocals. "Derceto" is a modern techno track with an old school touch -- the bass line is strong and the vocals are dirty. Thinkfreak's powerful remix takes the energy to higher levels. "Owls Are Not What They Seem" is hypnotic with exquisite production details, and Dalessandro & Expander's remix is sexy and groovy.

2009 is poised to be the year where techno makes a true comeback. Chicago-based producer Billy Dalessandro needs no introduction. He has been there to witness the many changes techno has gone through in the past decade, and offers Polis as his response. Featuring 11 tracks, his debut album for Soniculture (and fourth artist album) is a look at city structure ("Polis" being the Greek word for "city") and the crumbling facades amidst urban decay. The world is headed into one of its most uncertain times, and that fear is reflected in these dark productions that Dalessandro created with late nights and early mornings in mind. The titles alone refer to a possible renegade dystopian future-world, and the sonic soundtrack is minimal, true Chicago dance music that is textured with impeccably tidy melodies and unhooked structures. For from the darkest hours, great things often emerge, and when music historians look back on 2009 as the year that techno made its comeback, Polis will certainly be among those works receiving great praise.

"Here is a fresh track from Swedish duo Landberg & Jacobson, who are this time remixed by Maxime Dangles (Kompakt) and Expander & Thinkfreak (Soniculture). A release that blends several styles, be it techno, electro, house or Detroit, they are all here. A1: Landberg & Jacobson - 'Portabel.' This is one of the most interesting releases by Landberg & Jacobson, who are always capable of showing us a very modern approach to Detroit-influenced music. With a very catchy tune and superb synth programming, it can be played on any kind of dancefloor and should please all electronic music lovers in general. A2: Landberg & Jacobson: 'Portabel (Expander & Thinkfreak remix)'. With serious bass line work, this is the grooviest version of 'Portabel.' Extremely danceable, it breaks with a padded version of the synth line, which later on, comes back to provide a warm set of emotions and sensorial stimulation. Dancing with a smile is perfectly okay. B1: Landberg & Jacobson - 'Portabel (Maxime Dangles Dark Remix).' Maxime Dangles shows us two different versions of 'Portable.' This is the techno version, a dark and strong journey that builds up and generates levels of high energy. The melody is fine-tuned and present during the break, only to lead us once again to Maxime's ultra-fine techno. A definite floor-banger. B2: Landberg & Jacobson -- 'Portabel (Maxime Dangles Bright Remix).' For lovers of electro and neo-trance, here is another version from Maxime, this time with the melody as the central core. It is for sure the catchiest version of 'Portabel,' again with superb programming and well-made arrangements, proving that this French musician is capable of surprising us in several ways. A great composer of modern electronic dance music."

"Soniculture presents one of its hottest releases ever. Midimiliz aka Extrawelt are back with 'Subtil,' which is also remixed by the minimal master Marc Houle and Expander & Thinkfreak. A1. Midimiliz aka Extrawelt - 'Subtil.' Midimiliz are unique in what they do, and this is the reason why 'Subtil' is not easy to classify. Techno is there, but you also have warm and organic drum arrangements, straight out from real instruments. The groovy bass line makes it extremely danceable and suitable for any sort of dancefloor. For sure, this is a must-have for the summer season. B1. Midimiliz aka Extrawelt - 'Subtil' (Marc Houle Remix). Marc does not need any introduction as he is the creative genius of masterpieces such as 'Bay of Figs' and 'Restore,' both released on M_nus. His approach to 'Subtil' mixes a bit of EBM with acid, and of course, techno, resulting in a special treat for all minimal lovers around the world and those in general who are open to new and creative ideas. B2. Midimiliz aka Extrawelt - 'Subtil' (Expander & Thinkfreak Remix). The owner of Soniculture and Thinkfreak provide a hypnotic and extremely danceable version of 'Subtil.' Using several elements from the original, this approach raises the energy levels considerably, leading several times to intense moments. Driven by pumping techno and using several overlapped bass lines, this is a prime time rocker. HOT!"

"Our most special dynamic duo, representing the Chicago-Lisbon connection, lighted the fire, and worked on a new recipe. Mix plenty of groove with sophisticated synth lines, throw in a touch of acid and some extra spices. Pump it all up and we are finally ready for the action. Available soon at a dancefloor near you. A2. Dalessandro & Expander - 'Pump Kin Pie,' Jason Emsley remix. Known for his hot releases on Platzhirsch, Jason Emsley brings his own recipe that he learned, back in the old days, in L.A. The result is a nice homemade blend of techno that includes perfect drumsets, the right touch of acid, and of course, the secret ingredient that makes him so special. B1 - Thinkfreak - 'My Good Bug.' This is the new floor burner from Thinkfreak, who, again, surprises us with a groovy minimal track charged with maximal energy and a synth line that comes in at exactly the right time to provide us with the perfect mood for madness. It's party time!"

"Soniculture enters the next season with renovated artwork, concept and new musical ideas. We proudly present the debut of Chordian, the new Swedish duo formed by Elias Landberg and Johan Fotmeijer, and -- surprise, surprise -- a remix from Paul Kalkbrenner! A1: 'Closed Eyes.' This is Detroit techno at its best with the right set of synths, bass lines and drum sequences, programmed to provide intense emotional experiences. Perfect for soulful environments. B1: 'Closed Eyes,' (Paul Kalkbrenner Remix). The master of Berlin techno is back with a breathtaking remix that raises even more the intensity of 'Closed Eyes.' With more 'pump' and fatter bass lines, it will for sure color your dreams with a nice touch of delirium. Paul also adds his own arrangements and melodies, making this version unique in its own way. A2: 'The End is Night.' The dreaming continues with a track moved by very elaborate synth sequences that develop in various forms and shapes, building up towards the peak, where emotions will again be the center core of the whole musical experience."

"Soniculture presents a release that will rock festivals, clubs and beach parties. An all in one solution for high temperature action. Billy Dalessandro is back with another floorburner, charged with electricity coming from his own modern way of Chicago techno. Landberg & Jacobson, also known as Bentobox, have their first release on Soniculture, and keep the energy levels high with a Detroit influenced track from Scandinavia. Billy Dalessandro -- 'Backjack.' With this superb track, Billy Dalessandro shows us how we can enjoy our dancefloor experiences to the maximum. Groovy, jackin' and uplifting, 'Backjack' will put wide smiles across our faces while we party all night (or day) long. Along the way, we may even learn how to bump in the back, Chicago style. Landberg & Jacobson -- 'Admit.' From Stockholm, Landberg & Jacobson bring out the coolness in techno with a track powered by sophisticated basslines and extremely well programmed drum sequences. Detroit-influenced techno moves now to the next level with this outstanding team of producers that are also known as Bentobox. A great debut on Soniculture and a promise of more to come in the near future."
